“Immediately fixes whatever I’m struggling with”
It is bar none the best training aid I've ever used. When I have a problem in a round, I can go use it and immediately fix whatever it was that day that I struggled with. Keep up the great work.

What is the Blue Brick?
That’s why I compare it to a Swiss Army Knife.
It features 11 different slots for placing the alignment sticks that come
with it. Here’s a quick look at those 11 slots and their functions:
- 3 slots for shallowing the club at the same angle as tour pros –
the key to consistent distance and accuracy - 1 for practicing an inside swing path so you hit sweet baby
draws on command - 1 for getting the shaft in a forward-leaning, ball-compressing
impact position with your wedges - 1 for launching your wedges at the pros' magic 30° angle for exquisite control
- 2 for creating square divots, and the pure contact that comes
with them - 3 for perfecting your alignment and ball position, so you're
always on target

Perfect aim with the Brick's alignment rods.

The Brick helps you groove an inside-out swing.

This setting will sharpen your divots and your iron play.
You can also use it to:
- Groove an optimal angle of attack for killer compression throughout the bag
- Nail the sweet spot with unwavering consistency
- Maintain your posture through every shot – a must if you want to be a great ball striker
mishits, such as:
- Chronic slicing, the No. 1 problem facing recreational golfers
- Devastating duck hooks, which can wreck your scores in a heartbeat
- Chunked and bladed shots, the bane of amateurs everywhere
- Off-center contact, including those dreaded sh-sh-sh-shanks
- Getting “stuck,” a common cause of snap hooks and blocked shots to the right
The secret to the Brick’s remarkable versatility and
effectiveness is…
This instant, actionable feedback is the key to quick results. And the more you use the Brick, the more deeply ingrained the proper moves become.
The Brick’s unique multi-purpose features also make it a terrific pre-round warmup tool. And if you’re forced to practice indoors in the winter, or just want to work on your game at home…
You can even use it inside, without hitting golf balls.
Bonus: The Brick is compact (8.5” x 5.5” x 1.5”), weighs just 3 pounds, and fits easily inside your golf bag along with its collapsible alignment sticks.
“The most fun training aid ever”
If I had to give this Brick a title it would be, “I learned how to hit draws in one range session.”
This Brick is incredible and I would highly recommend this to any golfer of any level. The versatility and options available make this the most fun training aid I have ever purchased.
I’ll go from the shallow setting, to the inside swing setting, to the wedge setting in a range session and wow has it improved my game! Honestly after 1 range session, I went and played 18 holes (at Tobacco Road in Sanford, NC, which I had never played before) and shot my lowest score ever!
I cannot thank you enough for designing this training aid!

How is the Blue Brick different from other training aids?
But I’ve never seen one as versatile as the Brick.
Normally, you might use one training aid for alignment…
Another for hands-ahead impact…
Another for an inside-out swing path…
Another for… well, you get the picture.
But with the Brick in your bag, you can practice all those things and much, much more.
That cuts down on clutter and hassle, not to mention confusion.

A “Swiss Army Knife” training aid, the Blue Brick is ideal for practicing your alignment, club path and much more.
On top of that, the Brick is unique among shallowing tools.Where others might display a shallowing angle to swing on – say 55°, for instance – they don’t tell you which club matches that angle.
The Brick removes the guesswork with its three shallowing slots, each labeled with a specific club (Driver, 6-iron, Sand Wedge).
By the way, it works with other clubs as well.
“My contact is light years better”
I found the wedge attack angle especially helpful. I really had no idea how much forward shaft lean you must have to compress the ball properly with the short irons. While I'm still learning to control the face with the shallowing features (my tendency is to leave it open too much at impact), my contact is light years better. Thanks for developing such a terrific device.

Why is shallowing the club so important?
Simple: A “shallowed-out” swing generates more speed and delivers a squarer clubface than a swing that’s steep and over-the-top
If you’ve got contact and ball flight issues like slicing, a lack of distance, fat and thin irons, or striking the heel and toe…
The root cause is a steep, over-the-top downswing – a flaw that affects the vast majority of golfers.
Now for the good news:
Shallowing the club is the fix.
In fact, it’s possibly the #1 difference between very good golfers and everyone else.
You’ve probably heard the term “shallowing.” But unlike other teachers, who just give you a basic idea of what shallowing means, I define it very specifically.
I’m Clay Ballard, co-founder and Master Instructor at Top Speed Golf. I spent years studying the swings of tour pros to find out the handful of things they had in common.
After poring over reams of video and launch monitor data, I discovered that when hitting a 6-iron, all pros swing at or just under a 60° plane coming down.
With a wedge, the slightly shorter shaft makes that plane a bit steeper.
And the significantly longer shaft of the driver puts a professional swing plane at 45°.

My epiphany was seeing that all pros get under this "shallowing line"
Think of each angle as the perfect “shallowing line.”
If you can swing at or slightly below these angles, you’re on your way to some seriously great golf.
We’re talking longer, straighter ball flight… perfectly flush contact…and the ability to consistently hit your target, whether with a driver, fairway woods, hybrids, irons or wedges.
Shallowing alone makes everything... literally EVERYTHING... so much better.
Even with NO other swing changes.
“Perfect ball flight with a baby draw”
I’m a 12 handicapper who has struggled with an unwanted fade my entire life. I used the Blue Brick yesterday for the first time. The first shot I hit was with the alignment rod in the 6-iron (shallowing) setting. A perfect ball flight with a baby draw right at my target. I was in disbelief! I proceeded to hit shot after shot with the same result.
The Blue Brick is amazing! After hitting a large bucket (about 90 balls), well over 90% of my shots had a nice draw or straight. I can't say enough good things about this product. Thank you, Clay!!!

How does the Blue Brick shallow out my swing?
Obviously, it's important to know the correct angles I listed above.
But it's a whole 'nother thing to feel these angles.
In my 15+ years of teaching, I’ve found that most golfers are flat-out shocked the first time they feel how shallow a pro’s swing really is.
That’s why you need a tangible guide to tell you, with 100% certainty, whether or not you’re swinging at the correct angle.
And that’s exactly what I designed the Blue Brick to do.
Earlier I mentioned that the Brick taps the power of constraints-led learning to produce instant feedback and lightning-fast results.
The process is SIMPLE:
Step #1: Choose the slot for the club you’re using
Driver, 6-iron or wedge. (You can also practice with other clubs. For example, use the 6-iron slot with a 7-iron, the driver slot with a fairway wood, etc.)
Step #2: Insert the stick into the slot
This one's pretty self-explanatory ;-)

One stick is inserted into the Sand Wedge shallowing slot, and the other is aligned toward the target.
Step #3: Don't hit the stick!
On the downswing, align your club’s shaft with the angle of the shallowing stick. If you hit the stick or swing over it, you’re not shallow enough. If you swing under the stick...
CONGRATULATIONS! You've got a perfectly angled downswing, and everything else will naturally fall into place. You’ll deliver that club from the inside for those awesome baby draws.

Swing over the top and you'll smack the stick, whick tells you for certain that you're doing it wrong.

A shallow downswing will always miss the stick, so you'll know you're doing it right. Keep repeating the same move and you'll soon have it honed.
Instead of listening to instructions, trying to process what you've learned in your brain and translate it to the movements of your body...
The Brick teaches your body DIRECTLY what to do...
Without complicated swing thoughts...
Or ANY guesswork at all.
You'll know if you're shallowing correctly in just one swing...
Which means you can start burning the motion of a tour player’s downswing into permanent muscle memory in as little as one practice session...
Here’s a quick (and true) story to illustrate the Brick’s effectiveness:
I was working with a player who’d been struggling to shallow the club consistently.
I set him up with the Blue Brick and he started making practice swings, keeping his club under the shallowing stick.
After a few swings, he shot me a cynical look.
“There’s no bleepin’ WAY that’s the right angle,” he said while shaking his head. “No way I’m supposed to be that shallow.”
I assured him the angle was dead-on, precisely matching what I’d calculated from those years of studying data and video.
Reluctantly, he kept working with the Blue Brick, keeping his swings under the stick. He went slow and short at first, then built up speed and length as he grew more confident.
And before long…
He was shallowing the club like nobody’s business – and drilling one pure shot after another.
The moral of the story:
Sometimes what you feel isn’t real – no matter how certain you may be.
And when you practice without physical markers, there’s a good chance you’re practicing the wrong thing.
The Blue Brick puts an end to that.

The stick serves as a constraint, forcing you to make the correct swing move.
“Tangible results in 20 minutes”
First drill I did was shallowing. This is why I purchased the device. 20 minutes into the shallowing drill with my 5-iron, and I can already feel and see tangible results of where my Blue Brick swing is headed.

How can I be sure it will work for me?
Feedback from Brick users, of all ages and handicaps, has been
overwhelmingly positive. Here’s a sampling of their comments:
Who designed the Blue Brick?
That would be yours truly, Clay Ballard.

I spent more than a year developing the Blue Brick, from concept through numerous prototypes, until finally I had a product that I knew – with 100% confidence – could help any golfer improve their entire game.
It’s the first training aid I’ve personally designed. And I’m absolutely thrilled with the results it’s getting for golfers like you.

Frequently Asked Questions
You'll know if you’re shallowing correctly in one swing… and you can start shallowing the club consistently in a single practice session.
You'll improve quickly because you'll KNOW that it’s working. Of course, the more you practice with the Blue Brick, the faster you'll see results.
Plus, the Blue Brick is light and portable so you can practice anywhere – in your backyard or even your living room – without hitting balls.
It’s the perfect year-round tool for improving your game and keeping it sharp.
In the case of the Blue Brick, the object is the alignment stick, or multiple sticks depending on the task you're setting up for.
When you place a stick in the shallowing slot, your downswing will smack the stick if you're too steep.
You don't want to do that, right?
So you intentionally avoid the stick, swing after swing, and before you know it...
You groove a swing that shallows the club automatically.
Plus, there are different settings to improve other areas of your swing:
- Master the inside-to-out swing path so you hit sweet baby draws on command
- Launch your wedges at the pros’ magic 30° angle for exquisite control
- Achieve hands-ahead impact for powerful ball compression
- Make pure contact and carve beautiful square divots
- Set up with perfect alignment and ball position, so you’re always on target
